Distance learning allows you to be fully flexible with your studies, fitting it around your lifestyle and other commitments. Your studying will take place online and with the exception of practical sessions for some of our courses, you won’t have to attend any classroom based lessons. With Stonebridge Careers Training, there are no deadlines so you can study at a pace that is best for you and finish your course in your own time. However, the sooner you complete the sooner you could be in your dream career

Registration fees start the career process for you. Once registered you will be allocated a provisional place on your chosen course. You’ll be provided access to PEARL, within Pearl you will have access to online tools such as the SCT CV builder, Career Planning and information that will help develop your Interview Skills. You’ll also be able to start to build your employer profile. You will then be introduced to your career support officer who will work on your behalf to start securing interviews even before you are qualified.

Studying online is the quickest and most convenient way of learning with us however we can send out a paper-based method if you would prefer.

Learning online gives you instant access to your course content and materials as well as support through Pearl, our virtual learning environment.

You’ll receive one lesson at a time if you choose the paper based method. Once you’ve completed an assignment, you can submit it by email or post to receive then your next one.

Pearl is our acclaimed virtual learning environment. Through Pearl you will be able to access your course content, customise your learning journey and get support from tutors and other students. You will receive access to PEARL as soon as your course Registration is completed.

RQF stands for Qualifications and Credit Framework. RQF has replaced VRQ and NVQ qualifications with the advantage that RQF courses allow you to complete your course and gain your qualification at your own pace.

You do not need any qualifications to enrol onto any of our courses. All courses are open to students of all academic backgrounds and there are no age limits or entry requirements.

After enroling you can start your course whenever is most convenient for you. However, if you choose a Blended model the course booking team will advise of your start date.

Your course will be split up into different units each with a question paper to complete at the end. Once you have completed your question paper you can submit it online, by email or through the post to your tutor. Once you tutor has received and marked your assignment you will receive feedback through your online student account. Assignments are usually marked and sent back to you within 2-4 days, final assessments may have a longer turnaround of 10-14 days.

If your course includes practical training, evidence will be gathered through observations, practical assessments and portfolio work. This will be assessed alongside the written part of your course to give you your overall mark.

Don’t worry. There is no limit to the amount of times that you can resubmit an assignment. At Stonebridge Careers Training, you’ll only need to resubmit the questions that you failed, not the whole assignment.

Your tutor will give you valuable feedback to help you answer all questions correctly and your mark won’t be affected by the number of resubmissions that you make.

We have a team of qualified, friendly tutors who are experts within their field. One tutor will be assigned to you at the start of your course and they will be there to support you throughout its entirety.

As well as your tutor, you will receive help and support from other students through Pearl and our advisors are always available to answer any questions, should you need them to.

We have a number of payment options available for our courses. You can choose to either pay for your course upfront in full or pay a deposit, followed by affordable monthly payments.

We can also offer Government backed 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for many of our courses. 19+ Advanced Learner Loans give you the opportunity to work towards a qualification, without worrying about the cost. There are no upfront payments and monthly repayments will only begin once your salary is £21,000 a year, or more.

Once registered you will be assigned to a member of our course booking team as well as being introduced to one of our dedicated career support team. They will work alongside you for up to 3 years. They will guide you through building a suitable CV, tips on interview techniques with additional advice on career planning. They will make the connection with one of our career partners to source you all the interviews you need to land your dream role.

Refer a student to attend a level 3 or above course with Stonebridge Careers Training and you will receive £50 per student.

The Referral reward will be paid upon the referred student completing the course. In order for you to make a referral you must be a student already registered with Stonebridge Careers Training

Once your referral has completed their course you will be contacted to arrange payment.

Fitness Sector

We currently offer the Personal Fitness Trainer course. On completion of this course you will receive two certificates: Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma and Level 3 Personal fitness Trainer Certificate of Achievement

There are no deadlines when you study with us at Careers Training College and so we can only give approximate figures on how long it will take to complete your course. How quickly you complete your course is dependent on how much time you can dedicate to your studies.

Each unit concludes with a question paper and we recommend that you allow at least 1-2 study hours to complete each paper.

The approximate amount of time required to complete the Personal Fitness Trainer course is 300 hours.

Beauty Sector

We currently offer the IAO Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Techniques (RQF). This course combines both level 2 and level 3 units.

There are no deadlines when you study with us at Careers Training College and so we can only give approximate figures on how long it will take to complete your course. How quickly you complete your course is dependent on how much time you can dedicate to your studies.

The IAO Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Techniques (RQF) is a fast track option as it combines both level 2 and 3 modules, meaning that you will be qualified quicker than if you were to study for the 2 courses separately.

As there are practical elements to this course, we cannot provide an approximate time to complete the course.

One you have finished your theory work you will be able to book your practical training at one of our industry leading training hubs located throughout the UK. Practical training is split into ‘blocks’ allowing you to work your training around your lifestyle.

Class sizes are limited to ensure you receive all the support you require to complete your studies. Our experienced tutors are on hand to provide one-on-one support and guidance during your training.

If you have already received your Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification, you will only need to complete the Level 3 units within this course.

Health & Social Care Sector

We currently offer the Health and Social Care (Adults) Diploma (QCF) Level 3 which is a full level 3 qualification, listed on the QCF (QRN: 501/2263/0).

Each unit concludes with a question paper and we recommend that you allow at least 1-2 study hours to complete each paper.

This course requires a work placement alongside your home study. The approximate amount of time required to complete the Health and Social Care (Adults) Diploma (QCF) Level 3 is 336 hours.

Web Design & Development Sector

We currently offer the Web Design and Development Certificate (RQF) Level 3. This course is a full level 3 qualification.

There are no deadlines when you study with us at Stonebridge Careers Training and so we can only give approximate figures on how long it will take to complete your course. How quickly you complete your course is dependent on how much time you can dedicate to your studies.

Each unit concludes with a question paper and we recommend that you allow at least 1-2 study hours to complete each paper.

The approximate amount of time required to complete the Web Design and Development Certificate (RQF) Level 3 is 215 hours.

An apprenticeship combines gaining practical skills in the workplace whilst furthering your knowledge. An apprenticeship gives you the advantage of ‘earning and learning’ as you’ll be paid by your employer whilst working towards gaining your qualification.

If you chose to enrol onto one of our apprenticeships, we will work with the employer to ensure that your job role will give you the relevant experience and knowledge that you need to complete your qualification.

You will be visited and supported by a tutor throughout your apprenticeship program who will run workshops to provide you with the knowledge needed to pass your assignments.

The minimum hours that you are required to work is 30, with time outside of this to complete your assignments.

The length of an apprenticeship can vary depending on the program. The minimum amount of time that it takes to complete a Level 2 Diploma is 12 months however it is normal for apprenticeships to last for 18 months to 2 years.

You can apply for apprenticeships in your final year of high school and can start once you have finished your GCSE’s.

You must be between 16 and 23 years old to do an apprenticeship.

The minimum wage for apprentices differs depending on your age. If you are between 16 and 18, the current minimum wage for apprentices is £3.40. If you are 19 or over you will receive the minimum wage for the first year of your program, this will then increase to the National Minimum Wage for the remainder of your apprenticeship.

The qualification that you will gain depends on the apprenticeship that you choose. For more information on the qualifications, see the individual apprenticeship pages.

As you will be working for an employer, you will be treated as a member of the team and will have an assigned job role. As well as your job you will have to complete assignments for your qualification and take part in workshops with your tutor.

After applying for an apprenticeship you’ll be invited to an interview and to complete Maths and English assessments to ensure that you are applying for the right level of apprenticeship.

Once these have been completed you will be contacted with confirmation as to whether you have been offered the apprenticeship.

The Government funds apprenticeships however you may have to buy clothing and equipment appropriate for your workplace and pay for any travel expenses.

You can apply for apprenticeships during your final year of high school however you cannot start until the legal school leaving date in July.

Once you’ve secured employment and passed the apprenticeship interview and Maths and English assessments, you can start your program as soon as the employer issues a start date.
